Rev. Danny Tenney

North District Superintendent

"As with all ministries, being part of the Cabinet is being part of a team who provides leadership, coaching, and supervision with other pastors and churches.  I consider this appointment to be a high and holy honor," said Danny. "This seems to me a time in the life of the CTC and the UMC that new life and a revitalized vision for ministry is on the verge of being birthed. I am excited to assist this new life!"

First ordained in the Central Texas Conference in 1995, Rev. Danny Tenney has served in a variety of church sizes and settings.  Most recently, Danny has served FUMC Burleson since October 2016. Danny’s passion in ministry is Biblical teaching, whether through preaching or small group Bible study.  “I believe the ancient texts of the Bible are living and breathing and have much to say about our daily situations and much to teach us about living our lives as followers of Jesus.” .”  At times, Danny’s sermons take on a life of their own through the vehicle of first-person interpretive sermons.

“The church and its body of believers is the best way to influence the community and take the gospel of Christ to the streets of our local communities. Outreach and mission are as vital to the effectiveness of a church as any other ministry.”  Danny desires to help engage the church in local outreach to the community in order to challenge the church to be the ministers they are called to be.

Danny is married to his wife Angela, a retired Special Education Administrator. He and Angela have two children, Stuart and his wife Kierren, and daughter Emmaclaire and husband Mason and daughter, Hadie. Danny is a graduate of Brite Divinity School. Prior to ordained ministry, Danny received a Bachelor of Science degree from East Texas State University (Texas A&M, Commerce), majoring in Elementary Education and then teaching Middle School Earth/Life Sciences
