The
Good & Beautiful Conference is coming to the Central Texas Conference Sept. 11-12 at First Methodist Church Mansfield. The conference is sponsored by the Central Texas Conference, First Mansfield and White’s Chapel UMC and everyone from the CTC is invited and encouraged to attend.
Dr. James Bryan Smith and his team from the Apprentice Institute will be in Mansfield for the conference to help lead participants in discussions and training on how to help people develop a deeper life with God.
In his closing remarks to the 2015 Central Texas Annual Conference, Bishop Lowry expressed his appreciation for all the church has done and is doing to reclaim an intentional focus on spiritual formation – a task on which the
Apprentice Institute is specifically focused. When asked about the Good & Beautiful Conference coming to the CTC, Bishop Lowry remarked, “Several years ago Jolynn and I had the chance to attend one of the Apprentice Conferences. We were greatly blessed in doing so and thought it was a fantastic event. I have confidence that this fall's conference will be also be a blessing to the ministries of our local churches as well as individuals.”
“T
he Good & Beautiful books authored by
Dr. James Bryan Smith are excellent resources for that work in your local church,” Bishop Lowry continued. “James Bryan Smith is an elder in the United Methodist Church and thus fully incorporates the key theological insights of the Wesleyan branch of Christianity.”
