MinistrySafe Group Training

The Central Texas Conference will be holding a series of group MinistrySafe sexual abuse awareness trainings in February 2022 to help those who have limited technological access or expertise. These trainings primarily consist of viewing the training videos as a group and completing the quiz individually.

 

2022 Events

  • February 5, 10 am - noon: China Spring UMC [Canceled due to weather]
  • February 12, 10 am - noon: First UMC, Granbury (301 S Loop 567, Granbury)
  • March 6, 2 - 4 pm: Central UMC, Brownwood (1501 Second St, Brownwood) [rescheduled from February 26]

To help us plan, please fill out this form to let us know to expect you. You can register multiple people from one church at the same time. If you cannot access the form, please call the Central Texas Conference Service Center at 817.877.5222 and provide the names of the people who will be attending and the date of the event.

 

Before the Event

To get the most out of the training session, please read your church's MinistrySafe policy, which your Safety System Administrator (SSA) or pastor should be able to provide to you. You are also encouraged to browse the resources available at ctcumc.org/ministrysafe including the frequently asked questions page.

 

After the Event

To be fully MinistrySafe certified, people must complete all "Safety Steps"--not just the training videos:

  1. Sexual Abuse Awareness Training (videos and quiz; renewed every two years)
  2. Screening by the church
    1. Complete the safety application
    2. Complete a face-to-face interview
    3. Provide references to be checked
  3. Trained in the local church's policies and procedures
  4. Church completes a criminal background check (renewed every two years)
