“If You See Something, Say Something!”

By: Rev. Beverly Connelly

If you see something, say something” is a national campaign slogan meant to raise public awareness of things that may seem odd, off, suspicious, or out of place. Having the courage to say something just may save someone’s life.

Such a slogan can also be applied to sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Have you seen or experienced the goodness of God? Say something! Have you witnessed an impossible situation that somehow worked out seamlessly? You should tell someone about it! Have you had a financial need, and discovered God provided for that need, in the most mysterious way? That is worth sharing!

If you come to know someone or something incredible, don’t you want to make this incredible person or event known? Go ahead…TELL EVERYONE YOU MEET!

If you know Jesus, as your Savior, you know the One who is The Good News. SAY SOMETHING! Once I came to know this blessed Savior, I found I could not stop talking about Jesus!

I understand what the prophet Jeremiah must feel, when he says, “…it is like fire shut up in my bones.” Jeremiah cannot keep the news to himself; and neither should we.

Afterall, having the courage to say something just may SAVE SOMEONE’S LIFE!!!

“But if I say, ‘I will not mention His word or speak anymore in His name,’ His word is in my heart, is like a fire, a fire shut up in my bones. I am weary of holding it in; indeed, I cannot!” (Jeremiah 20:9).
