Genesis UMC seeking part-time worship leader
 
Genesis United Methodist Church in southwest Fort Worth seeks to be a Jesus-centered, life-transforming, world-blessing, Spirit-filled, community of people who make disciples of Jesus Christ by faithfully loving God and our neighbors. The congregation is currently seeking a musically gifted servant leader to provide leadership for a new Sunday evening worship service. The minimum expectations for this position include the following:
 

  • Personal commitment to following Jesus; a desire to grow in discipleship and assist others in doing so; and an openness to and appreciation for Methodist/Wesleyan theology and practices;
  • Ability to lead a community of people vocally and instrumentally in modern worship music;
  • Desire and ability to recruit, organize, rehearse, and develop others to assist in the musical leadership of this new service;
  • At least a basic knowledge of the audio-visual equipment and software commonly used in modern/contemporary worship settings;
 
Specific hours and compensation offered for this position will vary depending on a candidate’s experience and availability. For the candidate with the right combination of gifts and interests, there may also be opportunity for this position to grow and include responsibilities for some age-level ministries and/or missions.
