Job Summary

This position exists to support two District Superintendents (East and North) in their work of helping local churches make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. The ideal candidate is a person who has top notch administrative, interpersonal and communication skills, ability to track, organize and manage a number of projects at one time, creative in problem solving, is able to work independently, and has a strong working knowledge of a wide variety of computer software and research tools. Essential Outcomes/Functions
  • Provide outstanding support to the District Superintendents, allowing the District Superintendent to focus on strategic initiatives and planning;
  • Manage the flow of the work of the districts in relation to charge conference scheduling, DS reviews, dCOM, clergy conferences, S/PPR-Clergy Preference forms, PSCFs, etc.;
  • Proactively assist churches in their mission through constant communications contact (newsletters, email, phone, etc.);
  • Collaborate with other districts, local churches, and conference entities;
  • Demonstrate radical hospitality.
Other Responsibilities
  • Offer assistance, ideas, and recommendations for a higher level of functioning;
  • Participate in Conference Service Center (CTCSC) staff meetings, activities, and ministries;
  • Collaborate with the CTCSC staff in order to impact the mission of the CTC collectively and the East and North Districts specifically;
  • Perform other duties to meet the ever-changing needs of the districts and conference.
Core Competencies
  • Excellent interpersonal/relational skills;
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office, and web-based applications, including ability to create spreadsheets and executive level presentations; knowledge of website CMS platforms, MissionInsite, Microsoft Share Point, and the UMC VitalSigns and EZRA tools is preferred;
  • Ability to conceptualize and develop written communication in a clear and professional manner;
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others across a wide range of backgrounds and perspectives;
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects, deadlines, etc. simultaneously and initiate follow up;
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence;
  • Must have professional demeanor and be able to speak effectively on a wide range of topics;
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with the highest degree of confidentiality;
  • Must be a person of deep personal Christian faith and integrity;
  • Knowledge of and commitment to the mission, vision, and values of the Central Texas Conference.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree preferred;
  • Related administrative experience and prior experience supporting individuals at the executive level; at least five (5) years administrative experience preferred.
