Central Texas Conference East District Administrator


The East District of the Central Texas Conference has an open position for the vital District Administrator role.
East District Administrator Central Texas Conference Overall Responsibilities:

The District Administrator will be responsible for overseeing the administrative execution of the East District of the Central Texas Conference. This individual will be developing innovative and efficient ways to accomplish the administrative functions necessary to support the mission of the United Methodist Church. This person will communicate the Wildly Important Goal in everything they do. The Director of Administration will creatively design administrative functions that alleviate obstructions and free up the District Superintendents to partner with the local churches.

  • Able to plan and see those plans through to completion while multi-tasking and responding to a wide range of queries and requests,

  • Able to create correspondence, schedules and program that support the local church and respond to the administrative needs of the Districts,

  • Working knowledge of current technology and social media and a willingness to learn and grow,

  • A commitment to the Central Texas Conference Wildly Important Goal to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.

General Responsibilities:
  • Ensures all administrative tasks are achieved on time or ahead of schedule, in a professional, radically hospitable oriented and quality-focused manner.
  • Maintains highly confidential information and files and is responsible for preparing time sensitive material.
  • Prepares routine and complex correspondence, reports and presentations.
  • Researches, analyzes and compiles data and figures for presentations and proposals.
  • Represents/interacts with laity, clergy, churches and other conference teams and committees.
  • Organizes and maintains file system, and files correspondence and records including personnel folders, transitioning the Districts to an on-line filing systems.
  • Maintains the Conference database (BrickRiver) for local church contacts / info for the Districts assigned.
  • Coordinates arrangements for meetings and conferences. Prepares agendas, reserve and prepares facilities, and records minutes of meetings.
  • Oversees the implementation of various District events in partnership with the District Superintendents and the Central Texas Conference.
  • Organizes and expedites flow of work.
  • Works with the local churches in supporting them with the Widly Important Goal of making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
  • Performs other duties either related or non-related as needed to meet the changing needs of the Districts.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s Degree preferred)
  • Extensive computer knowledge and experience, including use of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, internet applications, and other computer software.
  • Five (5) years related administrative experience
