Audio Engineer I (A1)
Job Description:

  • Coordination, operation, and technical support, including but not limited to, audio equipment and production.

Job Requirements:
  • Coordinate and/or lead set-up and tear down for equipment, as directed by leadership. Manage, and/or operate, front of house and monitor audio console and mix for services and events, as scheduled.
  • Act as audio engineer understanding the definition of desired levels and sound mix.
  • Understand basic concepts including, but not limited to, electrical safety, soundboards, cabling, circuits, music equipment, lighting and video equipment.
  • Work closely with the media team in assuming the primary responsibility of operating the audio equipment, monitors and production equipment in the Main Sanctuary during all weekly services and special events.
  • Work with the media team and volunteers in assuming management and oversight of production equipment maintenance and infrastructure.
  • Attend rehearsals and creative meetings, as required.

Qualifications:
  • Two (2) years of sound and/or production engineer; OR any equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Previous experience using a Behringer X32 and Aviom personal mixer
  • Intermediate knowledge of major digital audio consoles and sound reinforcement
  • Intermediate knowledge of backline equipment and appropriate microphone placement knowledge of audio equipment, connectivity and terminology
  • Training and/or education in media production, or related field, preferred.
  • Relevant experience to assist other areas of the Live Production department preferred.
  • Ability to make quick, accurate, independent decision under pressure.
  • Outstanding punctuality and flexibility to meet expectations of position.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; knowledge of proper English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
  • Exhibits good judgment, honesty, integrity, responsibility, and punctuality through the utilization of professional work standards.
  • Promptly performs other related duties as assigned and required with excellence.

Compensation:
$85 for services | $50 for rehearsals (paid on the 15th and end of month)

Weekly Schedule:
  • Wednesday evening rehearsals:                     6:30-8:30pm (Praise team - 7pm)
  • Sunday mornings:                                          9:00 – Arrive and set-up
  • 9:20 – Worship Huddle
  • 10:40 – Worship Countdown begins
  • 10:45 – Worship Service begins
  • 12:20p – Home
  • Days/Dates other than Sundays include:
  • Special Services (e.g. Services of Remembrance, funerals)
 
  • Major Church Holidays (i.e.: Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter)
