Reporting Relationship: The Musician will report directly to the Praise Leader/Choir Director. He or she will be considered a staff member and will have to attend staff meetings and worship committee meetings when scheduled by the Pastor. (Part-time) The Musician will work as scheduled throughout the week for planning, rehearsing, and performing. On call for weddings, funerals, and other dedicated events. This Staff member will work with the worship leader, as well as congregational volunteers (Praise Team, Choir etc.) Position Purpose: To minister to the church through music. The musician shall aid in creating an atmosphere for Worship. Duties: • The Musician will manage all the music of the church • Collaborate with the Worship Leader/Choir Director to coordinate music for all events and services • Support spiritual growth and leadership for the music department • Accompany soloists and ensembles as needed • Assist in maintenance of Music Library and Choir folders • Assist in preparation of music as needed for rehearsals • Assume other duties and responsibilities as delegated by the Worship Leader, Pastor, or Staff Pastor Parish Relations Committee (SPPRC) • Attend and conduct choir rehearsals when Worship Leader is out • Perform all duties as outlined in the Musician’s guidelines and as assigned • Perform other duties as assigned Requirements: • Experience as a musician for a church • Ability to lead a music department • Authentic relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and a continually developing spiritual life • Love and respect for people • Strong collaborator with the music team, church staff and congregation • Committed to the church's vision, leadership, and people • Dependable, responsible, initiative-taking, and creative with the ability to take the initiative in various projects • Must attend a spiritual formation group at Grace regularly (90%) • Regular attendance at church services (90%) • Attend choir rehearsals (90%) • Provide training for upcoming musicians in the church Qualifications: • Ability to play and read music • Ability to aid with the development of the choir and praise team • Flexible in availability to accommodate the schedule of church activities • Love and respect for people • Committed to the church's vision, leadership, and people • Punctual, responsible, initiative-taking and creative with the ability to take the initiative in various projects • Ability to lead worship and to train others as individual and team worship leaders • Produce and direct dedicated events, musicals and programs to include weddings, funerals, special services including Holy Week and Christmas Eve • Energetic and take pride in worship • Physically capable of fulfilling the required responsibilities of the church
