Welcome to Bishop Mike Lowry Teaching Session Landing Page, where Episcopal Leader of the Central Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church. For the next couple of weeks, Bishop Lowry will be presenting a four week video teaching session on Sin and Salvation.

We live in theological wilderness where the core content of the Christian faith is often at best vaguely known.  The theological wilderness inside the church is amplified by the fading memory of Christianity outside the church.  No more than ever it is time to re-examine and reaffirm key components of Christian belief.  Dietrich Bonhoeffer once said, “False doctrine corrupts the life of the church at its source, and that is why doctrinal sin is more serious than moral.”  Professor Kenda Creasy Dean has remarked, “Arguably, issues of identity and openness pose the most daunting challenges facing American Christianity in the twenty-first century.” Sin and Salvation is an invitation to re-examine and re-appropriate two key doctrines of the Christian faith in a four part series.  Later series will be offered on “The Incarnation” and “The Cross and Resurrection."

Yours in Christ,

Bishop Mike Lowry
