Bishop Lowry Calls for Prayers for U.S. Gov't Leaders

Jan. 20, 2021

As been his practice throughout his tenure as the Episcopal Leader of the Central Texas Conference, Bishop Lowry is asking the people of the Central Texas Conference and Christ followers everywhere to intentionally pray for those who have been peacefully and dutifully installed into governmental leadership of the United States of America. "Please pray for the President, Vice-President, all the members of the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives, as well as our Supreme Court Justices," stated Bishop Lowry following the conclusion of the 2021 Presidential Inauguration. "No matter for whom you voted, whatever your party of persuasion, I ask for all to be active followers of the Prince of Peace and pray for our elected leaders. May our witness be one of peace and justice tempered with mercy. I look to the people of the Central Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church to remember the words of Christ, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.'"
