Special Session of Annual Conference Called for Nov. 4

On June 28, 2023, Bishop Ruben Saenz Jr. issued the following call for a Special Session of the Central Texas Annual Conference to convene virtually at 9 a.m. (CDT), Saturday, Nov. 4, 2023. The stated purpose of the session includes consideration of any final resolutions of disaffiliation from the UMC by local churches per the provisions of ¶2553 of the Book of Discipline and setting the 2024 conference budget.

Dear Clergy and Lay Members to the Central Texas Annual Conference:
 
In accordance with our standing rules (CTC Guiding Principles and Best Practices) and ¶603.5 of The Book of Discipline of The United Methodist Church, I hereby call for a special session of the Central Texas Annual Conference to convene on Nov. 4, 2023, beginning at 9 am CDT. The special session will be conducted virtually via Zoom and shall include the following business:
  • Consideration of resolutions calling for the disaffiliation of local churches from The United Methodist Church per the provisions of ¶2553 of the Book of Discipline.
  • Consideration of a 2024 budget for the Central Texas Annual Conference.
 
Further information regarding the session and its business, including required registration links, will be sent to the members of the Central Texas Annual Conference and/or posted on the Conference website (ctcumc.org) in the coming weeks.
