The 2021 Central Texas Annual Conference Offering will go to support Methodist Justice Ministry (MJM) and Justice For Our Neighbors (JFON) - two organizations focused on working with, helping and ministering to some of the most vulnerable and marginalized members of our society - children and famiilies dealing with domestic abuse and immigrants. The Central Texas Conference Laity Team invites ALL CTC laity to participate in this year's laity session on Sunday, June 20th at 5 pm. The event will be online-only. To participate, you'll need to fill out this brief registration form to get the Zoom login information. This year's laity session focus will be servant leadership. We believe that servant leaders, both lay and clergy, are essential for our churches' Wildly Important Goal (WIG) to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. There will be a brief teaching session followed by breakout group discussions guided by members of the Conference Laity Team.

May 27 - To provide the clergy and lay members of Annual Conference with ample opportunity to seek clarification and/or additional information on the proposed budget for 2022, the Central Texas Conference Council on Finance and Administration (CFA) is offering two Question & Answer meeting opportunities via Zoom on Wednesday, June 16. Gary Sult, President of CFA, and Jeff Roper, Conference Benefits Officer and Executive Director of the Robert’s Center for Leadership, will be on hand to answer questions and provide any additional information on the budget at 9 a.m. and again at 5:30 p.m., June 16. March 17 - Bishop Mike Lowry, episcopal leader for the Central Texas Conference of The United Methodist Church has announced that the 2021 Central Texas Annual Conference meeting will be held June 20-22. The conference will be held online with limited in-person availability. Read more here.
Do you know a lay person who is an exemplary leader both within your church and in the wider connection? The conference laity team is seeking nominations for an individual to recieve the 2021 Morris Walker Award. Nomination letters can be as elaborate as you wish, but only a single letter of recommendation (per person nominated) describing the “above and beyond” ministries of the nominee is required. Previous Walker Award recipients are not eligible for the award. Nomination letters, along with any accompanying support materials or other letters of recommendation, should be signed by at least one nominator and emailed to Central Texas Conference Lay Leader Darlene Alfred at darlenealfred@ctcumc.org or sent via snail mail to Darlene Alfred, c/o CTC Service Center, PO Box 50517, Fort Worth, TX 76105. The deadline for 2021 nominations is May 15.
