Welcome

"For I am not ashamed of the gospel; it is the power of God for salvation
to everyone who has faith" Romans 1:16

Who invited you into the joy of God’s kingdom?
Who are those special people who have helped you along your faith journey?
Perhaps the more pertinent question for these times is who will share the love of Christ with your children, your grandchildren, your family, friends, neighbors, coworkers... and even that nice barista at Starbucks? Will it be you?

Evangelism and Church Growth Comes in Many Shapes and Sizes
Every church in the Central Texas Conference is unique. The role of the Lamar E. Smith Center for Evangelism and Church Growth (CECG) is to equip and energize local churches to identify and capitalize on the many ways that we can bring Good News to our diverse communities, and to the world!

The CECG Team is doing all we can to help you and your church engage your community as you introduce others to a relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ.

Starting New Faith Communities
As a Center, we continue to identify areas in which the Conference can establish new faith communities as we create "New Places for New People." We will be looking to start urban and suburban churches, ethnic congregations, traditional and nontraditional starts. Our goal is to partner with established congregations to birth new starts and to build into the DNA of new congregations the desire to multiply. Find out how invest in the future churches of Central Texas by joining our Church Growth SHAREholder Program, which continues to be the primary funding source for new church starts.

Coaching and Consulting for Transformation
The Center is ready to assist clergy and laity move through processes of transformation. We invite you to make use of the various Coaching and Consulting Tools we have available. Consider signing up to participate in the Healthy Church Initiative (HCI): a comprehensive process of shared learning, congregational self-study, consultation and coaching to fulfill the Ministry Action Plan/prescriptions.

Our success is largely dependent upon you! So just as we’ll be coming to you looking for ideas and feedback, please don't hesitate to call or email or pull me aside at a fellowship dinner and share your ideas and thoughts about how we can bring the Good News of salvation to the people of our communities as we continue to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
