Global Mission Partners/5 Star Program

Both programs are designed to inform and educate local churches on missionaries and mission support programs. Global Mission Partners has specific General Board of Global Ministry requirements. Global Mission Partners for 2009 were awarded at the 2010 Annual Conference to: Acton UMC, FUMC Alvarado, Arborlawn UMC, FUMC Colleyville, Crawford UMC, FUMC Crowley, FUMC Killeen, FUMC Mansfield, St. Luke UMC-Fort Worth, FUMC Stephenville.

First time Five Star awards were awarded for 2009 at the 2010 Annual Conference to: FUMC Cranfills Gap, Epworth UMC, FUMC Gordon, FUMC Grapevine, FUMC Iredell, Mosheim UMC, Oakdale UMC, Tolar UMC.

The following churches were recognized as continuing Five Star congregations for the 2009 calendar year: Acton UMC, FUMC Alvarado, Arborlawn UMC, FUMC Arlington, FUMC Azle, China Spring UMC, Christ UMC, Cogdell Memorial UMC, Coleman UMC, FUMC Colleyville, FUMC Crowley, Ferris Heights UMC, Gatesville UMC, FUMC Georgetown, Church of the Good Shepherd UMC, Harker Heights UMC, FUMC Keller, FUMC Killeen, Lake Shore UMC, FUMC Mansfield, Meadowbrook UMC, New World UMC, FUMC Olney, Poolville UMC, Richland Hills UMC, St. Barnabas UMC, St. John's UMC-Georgetown, St. John the Apostle UMC, St. Luke UMC-Fort Worth, FUMC Stephenville, Tenth Street UMC, FUMC Weatherford.

Program Requirements:

THE GLOBAL MISSION PARTNER PROGRAM recognizes churches that accomplish the following requirements:
            Give 100% of apportionments
            Have an ongoing program of mission education
            Serve the local community through outreach
            Establish a Covenant Relationship in support of a GBGM-trained missionary with $2,500 or $5 per church member per year
            Pledge support for a Person in Mission sent by a partner church in another country at $1,000 or more per year (or $2 per church member per year)
            Share your experience with two neighboring congregations

The FIVE STAR PROGRAM of the Central Texas Conference recognizes churches that accomplish the following requirements:
            Give 100% of assigned apportionments
            Have an ongoing program of mission education
            Serve the local community through outreach
            Contribute to a conference, national, international or UMCOR Advance Special
            As a step toward becoming a Global Mission Partner, make a financial contribution of any size to a United Methodist missionary Five Star Application form
Deadline for the Five Star application form with supporting documention to be recieved into the conference office is April 15.
