Volunteers In Mission (UMVIM)

CTC UM Volunteers in Mission Made a Great Impact in 2009

Participants from a number of CTC churches served on conference-wide misison teams in 2009 to Lake Charles, LA, and on our annual UMVIM/Disaster Response project at UMCOR's Sager Brown Depot in Baldwin, LA.  This is in addition to CTCYM, district mission teams, and countless local church mission teams our CTC church communities sent out worldwide.  Based on information received from CTCYM leadership, team leaders and local church mission coordinators.
We are delighted to report the following statistics from 2009:

Mission teams sent:  4 medical, 439 construction/education

Mission team members sent: 3,546

Volunteer work days served: 15,870

Contributions in team expenses and project supplies: $1,004,556

Project locations:  15 international projects in 7 countries; 424 projects in 5 states; 97 projects located in the CTC area; more than 12 projects located in areas affected by hurricane

Monetary worth of donated volunteer hours: $2,249,572

Overall value of volunteer contributions and mission experience:  PRICELESS!

Many thanks to all who let us know about their exciting mission activities.  Please continue to keep us updated on your mission ministries.
