Spiritual Formation

As a conference, we are working to develop relational groups for all persons working with the spiritual formation of children and adults. These gatherings of the Christian Educators’ Network are designed for both lay and clergypersons, paid staff and volunteers. We are beginning this process with a series of intentional conversations about our needs, dreams and connections. The following are the groups scheduled at this time. While they are held in the geographical districts, they are open to persons from any church for any date.

Do You Have Questions about Curriculum? Cokesbury curriculum writer/consultant Joyce Brown can answer your curriculum questions and help your church choose and use curriculum resources. Joyce will work with you to design a free workshop for your church’s specific needs. Popular workshop topics are Tips for Choosing Curriculum, Tips for Teaching and Discipline in the Classroom. Certified by The United Methodist Church as an Associate in Christian Education, Joyce has written children’s curriculum for Cokesbury since 1987. One of three Cokesbury Curriculum Representatives in the United States, Joyce lives in Fort Worth. Contact her at 817-249-2526 or joyce@danbrownart.com.  She is a wonderful resource in our own backyard.

In addition, we have developed a Facebook page for the Christian Educators’ Fellowship in the Central Texas Conference. Join today so that you can communicate about curriculum, ideas and needs (go to the page and click the thumbs up “Like” tab at the top).

The 2012 Christian Educators Fellowship Training Event will be a wonderful way to study, learn and grow with our denominational leaders in this area. If you plan to attend, please contact Rev. Dawne Phillips at the Central Texas Conference Service Center (dawnephillips@ctcumc.org) and she will help you connect with others who are attending.
