Welcome
Welcome to the Center for Leadership!
Our rapidly changing world demands highly effective leaders, and I’m not just talking about in the corporate world or within the halls of power of those who represent us in Austin and/or Washington D.C. In fact, highly effective leadership within the church is equally important, if not more so, because our very souls and redemption of the world requires it. Establishing an unparalleled level of leadership
excellence throughout the Central Texas Conference is the mission of the Center for Leadership and how our center is addressing the changes represented in our Exodus Project. What will never change is the mission and message of the church, which is the same as it was when Jesus gave his disciples their commission.
So how do we as the Center for Leadership contribute to accomplishing our mission?
- By identifying, recruiting, encouraging and maturing the discipleship of all leaders.
- By providing high-quality training and resources in leadership, communication and team building skills.
- By working as teams of high-performing clergy and laity to more effectively fulfill our mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
- By fostering a culture of support, partnership and accountability that continuously moves us toward excellence.
- By defining and living into our motto of Christ-like service.
After this year’s annual conference, many technical/very practical things had to happen and many of those changes are still underway. But what is radically different is the new spirit and excitement that permeates throughout our center and the entirety of the CSC, the teamwork with the Executive Directors and the constant questions: What are our desired outcomes? How does this fit with our values and mission? How will we know when we have reached our outcomes? What part of the situation have we not yet explored? Is this bathed in prayer? Are we offering God the very best we have?
This is a very exciting time for our conference and I am quite thrilled to be a part of this Exodus change as I pray that you are. Please look for more and regular updates from me and/or members of the Center for Leadership team as our goals and missions begin to take shape.
