One Great Hour of Sharing (March 10) 
YOU WERE THERE . .  .with Hurricane Katrina, the Haiti Earthquake, Hurricane Sandy and the Bastrop fires . . . because the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) was there.  You gave a gift and 100% went to the disaster you designated.  None of your designated funds went to administrative costs!  How does that happen?  It happens because all the administrative costs for UMCOR come from a special offering taken by United Methodist Churches, “One Great Hour of Sharing.”  In the Central Texas Conference in 2012, 96 churches gave $18,678.03.  This year’s Sunday designated for “One Great Hour of Sharing” is March 10, but each church can choose the Sunday most appropriate for her individual schedule.  Or offerings can be received through creative endeavors outside the Sunday offering!  However you offer this important opportunity to give, remind your faithful disciples of the disaster work, the refugee work, the hunger and rehabilitative work the UMCOR does!  Every Central Texas Conference church can make a contribution to the transformation of the world through the life-giving ministry of UMCOR!  Resources to assist in receiving this offering and stories can be found at www.umcor.org.     For additional information, contact Rev.  Native American Ministries Sunday (April 14)
 
Golden Cross Sunday (May 5) - Local congregations in the Central Texas Conference collect money designated to assist the medically indigent treated in Harris Methodist hospitals, address the preventative medicine needs of UM congregations through support of Faith Community Nursing, and provide scholarships for area UM nurses who wish to receive training in FCN.

2013 Annual Conference Special Offering (June 9-12)
 
 
Christian Education Sunday (September 8) - Attention is focused on Christian education in the conference, and an offering may be collected to support that work.
 
World Communion Sunday(October 6)  
 
Thanksliving Offering (November) - Designated annually by the Central Texas Conference. The offering is split 90/10 with recipients rotating between local and global ministries.  Watch for information in early June for each year's specific offering.
