Help in Haiti

Young people around the world are looking for ways they can help the hurting people of Haiti. For many of them, making a financial contribution is not an option. But for most, putting together a $12 health kit is something within their reach.

You can help your youth connect to the people of Haiti by organizing a Health Kit drive. UMCOR provides these kits provide basic necessities to people who have been forced to leave their homes because of the earthquake.

Click the link on the right for a list of items to include in the health kit.

Groups can take their kits by February 4 to the drop off sites in their district as listed below. Pack the health kits in boxes and mark the box with how many kits are in each box and deliver to:

  • Brownwood – First UMC, Stephenville and First UMC, Early
  • Fort Worth – Saginaw UMC
  • Mid-Cities – First UMC, Arlington (please bring your kits on February 4)
  • Temple – Wellspring UMC or Salado UMC
  • Waco – Austin Avenue UMC, Waco
  • Waxahachie – First UMC, Waxahachie
  • Weatherford – First UMC, Weatherford

Each district will bring the boxes of kits to the central collecting point at First UMC, Hillsboro by 3 p.m. Sunday, February 7, to be transported immediately to the UMCOR Sager Brown Depot. First Hillsboro will have someone available to accept and unload the boxes on Friday (Feb. 5) from 9 a.m. - noon and Saturday (Feb. 6) from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
