Wheelchair ramps are popular projects on CTCYM mission trips. This plan provides sound wheelchair ramp designs and construction principles. The plan uses modular components and requires no footings. The ramps are reusable and very adaptable to varied home situations. This design provides the ability to build ramps quickly, safely, easily and affordably with a volunteer work team.
Two excerpts from the 6th edition of How to Build Ramps for Home Accessibility are available here. The first is the design overview and the second are the design plans. You will need Adobe Reader to view these files.
These plans were developed by The Home Ramp Project of the Metropolitan Center for Independent Living in St. Paul, Minnesota. For more information, log onto www.wheelchairramp.org.
