UMCOR flood bucket collection and Midwest flood response: UMCOR's Sager Brown Depot has already sent several truck loads of flood buckets to Iowa in response to this month's flooding, and will continue to send supplies as rivers crest and levees breach. Sager Brown needs these supplies to be replenished so that they can be sent to the next disaster, which is sure to come during hurricane season. The Central Texas Conference Disaster Response Task Force is calling all churches to collect supplies for flood buckets. You may either put together complete flood buckets at your churches or gather the bulk supplies necessary, and we will collect the buckets on Sunday, August 10th from 2-5pm. at First United Methodist Church in Hillsboro - 315 East Elm, Hillsboroo 76645. To find out the supplies necessary for a flood bucket, go to http://new.gbgm-umc.org/umcor/getconnected/supplies/. We ask that you bring only flood bucket supplies for this collection and that you bring volunteers to help load your contributions. In order to ensure that we load into an appropriately-sized vehicle, we ask that you let us know by Tuesday, August 5^th, the approximate amount of supplies you will bring. Checks can be dropped in church offering plates or mailed directly to UMCOR, P.O. Box 9068, New York, NY 10087. Write the Advance number and name on the memo line of the check.
