Executive Director – Glen Lake Camp & Retreat Center

 

The Executive Director (ED) of Glen Lake Camp & Retreat Center (GLC) is the professional manager of the Central Texas Conference Camp and Retreat Ministry.  The primary function of the ED is to manage the camp and extension ministry involved in the conference camping program.

 

Administration:  The ED is responsible for hiring and managing all camp and retreat center staff; in addition providing counseling and training of all staff.

 

Financial:  Supervise the day-to-day activities of the Financial Director of GLC in order to insure financial stability, growth, accountability and proper local, state and federal accounting practices.  All financials are reported to the GLC Board of Directors on a regular basis.

 

Facilities:  Insure that all facilities of GLC are maintained in a manner that demonstrates constant improvement.  The ED is also responsible for the implementation of new construction on the GLC site with the approval of the board.  The ED is to insure compliance with all health and safety regulations in accordance with local, state and federal entities.

 

Program:  The ED is responsible for the supervision of all curriculum of GLC’s summer camp program.  In addition, the direction, implementation and evaluation of the Camp On The Road Program is also the responsibility of the ED.

 

Public Relations/Guest Services:  The ED is responsible for promoting a partnership with the annual conference, local churches and other extension ministries of the Central Texas Conference.  Direct all publications related to the ministry of Glen Lake and the services provided by this ministry.  Act as chief fundraising officer in partnership with the Development Director of GLC.  

 

Relation to the Annual Conference:  The ED reports to the Glen Lake Camp & Retreat Center Board of Directors and the Executive Director of Mission Ministries.  In an effort to partner with all conference entities, the ED relates to the Nurture, Outreach and Witness Councils as a representative of GLC.  The ED is also a member of the mission ministries staff of the conference.
