Director of Humanitarian Services

 

Description of responsibilities:

The major functions of my position are to coordinate the adult UMVIM program, the CTC Five Star and GBGM Global Mission Partner programs, and the following UMCOR-related programs:  Disaster Response, Refugee & Immigration Ministries, and Task Force on Hunger.  I serve as a liaison between the General Church agencies, the South Central Jurisdiction, the churches in the Central Texas Conference, and several outside organizations with which the CTC collaborates.  Specifically, my responsibilities for all areas include: developing and promoting programs; recruiting and training volunteers, particularly for leadership positions; providing appropriate training and guidance for volunteer coordinators; managing each program’s budget and material resources; providing local churches with opportunities for service and ministry, and assisting with coordination of those goals and activities as needed; speaking to CTC church groups about the various ways they can be involved in mission; and advocating for and promoting related Advance Specials.
