Clergy Sexual Misconduct Prevention Course is now available online - Keeping Our Sacred Trust

Keeping Our Sacred Trust, an online course on preventing clergy sexual misconduct, is now available to clergy and supply pastors who are appointed to a charge in the Central Texas Conference. The course builds on and continues the online course developed by Dr. Richard Hunt used by many Central Texas pastors in recent years. The new version is administered by the Lewis Center for Church Leadership of Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, DC.
This course fulfills the requirement that clergy receive quadrennial training giving them information and examples to help them readily identify unethical conduct and potentially abusive situations within their ministerial relationships. The training helps clergy learn more about ways to understand and avoid violating boundaries in their relationships with parishioners.
The Conference has utilized both classroom-style and online education over the years with the expectation that all clergy will receive training at least once every four years. Many have found that the online format currently used makes the training more accessible to them and their schedules.
Those needing to complete this training course should alert Susan Briles at susan@ctcumc.org, 817/877-5222, or 800/460-8622. The Lewis Center will then send an email with the information needed to begin the course and contact information in case you have any technical problems.
The cost of the course if $49. You will be billed upon completion of the course. Also upon completion you will receive .5 CEU credit issued by the Lewis Center for Church Leadership.
