Purpose Statement

 

The UMC Singles Council's purpose is to create a singles community by providing networking opportunities, fellowship, and educational ministry events throughout the year for singles attending United Methodist Churches in the Central Texas Conference thereby facilitating the making of disciples. We serve single adults in Tarrant County and the surrounding area, including the cities of Fort Worth, Arlington, Grand Prairie, North Richland Hills, Bedford, Euless, Grapevine, Haltom City, Hurst, Burleson, Mansfield, Keller, Watauga, Southlake, Benbrook, Colleyville, Weatherford, White Settlement, Forest Hill, Saginaw, Azle, Richland Hills, Crowley, River Oaks, Kennedale, Everman and Lake Worth.

Below you will find social, educational and other events for single  adults in the Greater Fort Worth-Arlington-Mid Cities Tarrant County, Texas area.  The listed events are hosted by the UMC Singles � Tarrant Area Single Adult Ministry Council as well as area United Methodist Churches

Hike at

Fort Worth Nature Center

 

Join Tarrant Area Singles members on Saturday, January 23 for a Day hike at Fort Worth Nature Center. Meet at 8:30 AM at the Hardwicke Interpretative Visitors Center Parking lot at Fort Worth Nature Center.  This hike is also in conjunction with the Fort Worth Sierra Club. After you enter the refuge pay your entrance fee and follow signs to Hardwicke. The park opens at 8 AM so be there promptly. We will hike a 4-5 mile section of trails. Bring water, snacks, and raingear. Nature Center is located in NW Tarrant County on Lake Worth. Take Highway 199 exit west toward Azle off 820 West on western edge of Fort Worth. The hike is led by Tarrant Area Singles member Claudia Blalock, 817-924-6242. For more information on Nature Center, visit www.fwnaturecenter.org. In the event of rain, hike is cancelled. No dogs please.

5 Love Languages

 

On January 24, St. Andrews Singles begins a 5 week study of The Five Love Languages.  This study features the author of the book, Dr. Gary Chapman.  He is on DVD discussing the concepts of the different kinds of love languages everyone has. He teaches from a Christian perspective.  This promises to be a valuable resource for all single adults as we navigate the adult singles journey.  Please join us Sundays at 10:15 am in Room 209 beginning January 24.  For more info, contact SAS Coordinator Tina Plunkett tinabug59@sbcglobal.net.

Mission Trip

 

SINGLES MISSION TRIP TO DULAC, LOUISIANA:

All singles are invited to participate in a disaster recovery mission trip to Dulac, Louisiana

 

 Thursday, February 11 through Monday, February 15 (President's Day Weekend). 

 

Please save these dates and plan on joining us as we work on homes devastated from past hurricanes.

Cowtown Marathon

Join Tarrant Area Singles on February 27th for the 32rd running of The Cowtown in Fort Worth. We will have participants walking and running in the 5k event. We will leave the FUMC Fort Worth parking lot at 7:30 am to walk to the starting line. 

To register for the race, go to http://www.cowtownmarathon.org/default.aspx and register under Corporate and Open Teams. Include the team name �Team TAS� in your registration.
