Global Mission Partners/5 Star Program

Both programs are designed to inform and educate local churches on missionaries and mission support programs.  Global Mission Partners has specific General Board of Global Ministry requirements.  The 5 Star Program is a conference program, providing a stepping stone to the level of Global Mission Partner.   Mission Involvement brochure

Global Mission Partners for 2008 were awarded at the 2009 Annual Conference to: St. Luke UMC Fort Worth, FUMC Killeen, FUMC Stephenville, FUMC Colleyville, FUMC Mansfield,  Acton UMC, FUMC Alvarado, Arborlawn UMC, Crowley UMC.

First time Five Star awards were awarded for 2008 at 2009 Annual Conference to:  FUMC Breckenridge, FUMC Gatesville, FUMC Joshua, Salado UMC, St. John UMC, Georgetown, St. Stephen UMC, Arlington, Thornton UMC, Wesley Chapel UMC.

Continuing as Five Star Churches for 2008 and acknowledged at 2009 Annual Conference: Acton UMC,  Alliance UMC, Arborlawn UMC, China Spring UMC, Christ UMC, Coleman UMC, Covenant UMC, Faith UMC, Ferris Heights UMC, FUMC Alvarado, FUMC Arlington, FUMC Azle, FUMC Colleyville, FUMC Crowley, FUMC Ennis, Genesis UMC, FUMC Georgetown, FUMC Groesbeck, FUMC Killeen, FUMC Olney, FUMC Waxahachie, FUMC Weatherford, Lake Shore UMC, Meadowbrook UMC, New World UMC, Richland Hills UMC, St. Barnabas UMC, St. John the Apostle UMC, St. Luke UMC, Fort Worth, Tenth Street UMC.

Program Requirements:

THE GLOBAL MISSION PARTNER PROGRAM recognizes churches that accomplish the following requirements:
            Give 100% of apportionments
            Have an ongoing program of mission education
            Serve the local community through outreach
            Establish a Covenant Relationship in support of a GBGM-trained missionary with $2,500 or $5 per  church member per year
            Pledge support for a Person in Mission sent by a partner church in another country at $1,000 or  more per year (or $2 per church member per year)
            Share your experience with two neighboring congregations

The FIVE STAR PROGRAM of the Central Texas Conference recognizes churches that accomplish the following requirements:
            Give 100% of assigned apportionments
            Have an ongoing program of mission education
            Serve the local community through outreach
            Contribute to a conference, national, international or UMCOR Advance Special
            As a step toward becoming a Global Mission Partner, make a financial contribution of any size to a United Methodist missionary  Five Star Application form
