Cost: $270 per person - this includes housing for 6 nights and meals (6 Breakfast/5 Lunches/3 Suppers) and Accident Insurance
Additional costs include transportation and free time spending & meals.
We have space for 44 adults. We will hold spots for 6 participants from each church, with additional folks on waiting list.
$70 deposit is required with application by April 21st and balance needs to be paid by May 15th.
One of the purposes of this trip is to help empower and equip churches to be in missions. It is our desire to have people from as many as eight churches on this trip. If one person from each church will make the commitment to go not only on this trip but to also lead a trip within one year with your church (and, inviting anyone else you want to invite) the conference will pay $100 of your fee this year and $100 when you lead a trip next year. If you are interested in being that team leader please contact Rev. Laraine Waughtal, UMVIM Coordinator, and we will go over the details. You will also be required to take UMVIM Leadership training which is a 4 hour class given several times a year by the conference. The cost of that class is $20 and provides you will all of your materials.
Housing: Dorm Style (Each room has two twin beds, dressers, desk and one vanity. Two rooms share a connecting bath. Linens, towels, pillows & blankets are provided.) There is a possibility of RV parking if you are interested.
Schedule: Teams work Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8am-3:30pm; Tuesday and Thursday from 8am – Noon. During off times there are many options to tour the area and learn more about the community. Travel days will be Sunday and the following Saturday.
What does a volunteer do: There are three main areas the volunteers help to make a difference while on campus - Maintenance and Ground Works, Administrative Tasks, and Assisting with McCurdy Ministries programs. Each team is asked to bring funds to cover the cost of supplies for the projects. The Central Texas Conference will cover this cost for "this" particular trip.
Trip Leader: Art Nutt is a trained Volunteer in Mission Trip Leader and is an experienced leader to the McCurdy Missions. He has been to McCurdy Ministries 15 times.
