On Saturday, April 24, the congregation of St. Stephen UMC in Arlington will engage in four events as part of the UMC's global effort to "Change the World" on April 24-25. In the morning, church members will work with children and families at Wimbish Elementary School planting and weeding in the school's community garden. As part of the "Imagine No Malaria" campaign, we'll walk our neighborhood with flyers educating people about what househlds can do this summer to minimize the mosquito population (and reduce the threat of West Nile Virus in our community). In the afternoon, we'll serve ice cream to families attending baseball games at the Miracle Field (designed for children and youth with special needs) across the street from our church. In addition, members of our UMW will attend the Benefit for Missions event to learn more about UMW missions. More information is available at www.ststephenmethodist.org.
