First United Methodist Church of Fort Worth, Texas is seeking a (part-time) Middle School Program Coordinator. Interested parties can send a resume and cover letter to firstname.lastname@example.org Purpose of Position: This position exists to contribute creative and practical collaboration with the Youth Ministries staff in its ministry to Middle School age youth (so teenagers in our congregation will experience meaningful discipleship, spiritual formation, learning, and fellowship in a loving community). This position will ensure proper execution and administration of programs for middle school aged (6th grade through 8th grade) youth. Responsible To: The Director of Youth Ministries Ministry Description: FUMC Fort Worth Youth Ministries is committed to communicating to all students that they are known and loved by Christ, helping them grown in discipleship, and build relationships with each other. The Youth Ministries offer opportunities each week to help 6th – 12th-grade students connect with each other and grow in their faith. We are a community that welcomes, empowers, and serves all youth and equips them to go out and be God’s people in the world. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with the Director of Youth Ministries and Associate Director of Youth Ministries in coordinating weekly programming, equipping volunteers, connecting with youth and youth families, and organizing events, all focused on our Middle School youth, with a particular emphasis on Sunday morning programming. Qualifications and Skills: Some undergraduate education required. Volunteer or paid experience in executing youth ministry programming preferred. This person must be able to articulate a personal relationship with Christ and interest in serving with teenagers, as well as show interest in continuing to develop as a person, Christian, and leader. This person should be comfortable working within the context and beliefs of the United Methodist denomination. This person should possess strong communication and interpersonal skills; organizational & administrative proficiency; and the ability to collaborate with staff and volunteers of various ages, abilities and backgrounds. This person should be a team player, have a strong sense of responsibility, and a desire to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment. Time Commitment: This person is expected to work approximately 10-15 hours per week. The director is prepared to be flexible and understanding regarding when those hours are achieved each week. Hours will vary at times, with full days on trips and in preparation for events and shorter days in the office. Compensation: This position will be compensated on an hourly basis, at a rate commensurate to background and experience.
