Where is my group going?
|Each summer, Central Texas Conference Youth in Mission (CTCYM) has more than 1,500 youth and adult volunteers who put their faith into action by repairing and rebuilding homes, nurseries, community centers, and other structures that have been weathered by age, poverty or natural disaster. We also serve community centers, nursing homes, and food/clothing pantries by providing extra hands to help in any way possible. Our prayer is that through this work God would work through us to provide a blessing to the people we serve.|
For the June trip of 2017, CTCYM feels called to serve throughout Oklahoma. CTCYM has served in Oklahoma on five other occasions in the summers of 1995 (our inaugural year), 2001, 2006, and 2010, and 2013. Our youth and adults were received with warmth and love by churches and communities and were incredibly blessed by the opportunity to serve. With Bishop Hayes' blessing, CTCYM will return to Oklahoma June 18-24, 2017.
Participants in our July 2017 trip will travel to communities in our own Central Texas Conference. The churches that have come forward to host our groups are already showing themselves to be supportive and encouraging. They are extremely mission-minded and service-oriented, and will be invaluable in identifying need and places where our groups can serve.
Each host church (“Living Center”) will be led by well-trained leaders from our conference who are experienced in working with people of the community and our youth of CTCYM.
